Femmes Majeures is a CD featuring works by relatively unknown but highly talented female composers from the 20th and 21st centuries: Elsa Barraine, Odette Gartenlaub, Germaine Taillefer, Esther Assuied, Claude Arrieu, Jeanine Rueff, Marie Luce Lucas, Valérie Stephan, and Edith Canat de Chizy. These pieces, written for trumpet and piano, had never been recorded before.
Dana Ciocarlie and Guy Touvron were able to grasp the unique world of each composer all the better because they had had the opportunity, at different times in their lives, to rub shoulders with these remarkable women.
