Gabriel Fauré is well known as a composer, but less so as a teacher. This recording aims to highlight his influence in France and Europe when, in 1896, he succeeded Massenet as professor at the Paris Conservatory.
The program on this disc brings together one of his late works and compositions by his illustrious students: Ravel, Boulanger, and Enesco.
